Credits are what Leon earns per kill once he has the Tactical Tracker from the Central Camp in East Raccoon City. They count only when he hands them in at a Supply Box, and they add up across runs. The total passes 200,000 by itself over the three runs. After the first ending, the Challenges list in the Bonuses menu shows it.
