The Lyngbakr is the chained whale that forms Lyngbakr Island, in Svartalfheim's Bay of Bounty. You free it in the favour The Weight of Chains.

On the island, crash through the weak floor into the cave and take the Watchtower Key from the chest.
Row to The Watchtower opposite, open its door with the key and, with your companion's help, strike the drum inside to wake the creature.
Cut the three chains that hold it: each time cut the giant chain, then break the link with the axe.
Row round to the creature's open eye, on its left side, and interact with it.
