Drinking alcohol gives the Alcohol condition. Defeats by a character with that condition count, twenty in one playthrough.

The quickest way is in Act 3:

In the Lower City of Baldur's Gate, go into the Elfsong Tavern, west of the Basilisk Gate waypoint, and speak to the cook in the kitchen to start the quest to clear his storehouse of rats.
Give the drinks to a character with a large area spell such as Fireball, Ice Storm or Spirit Guardians.
Drink one, then take the stairs down to the cellar.
Hit the swarm of rats with the spell. Before your next turn, check the character is still drunk and drink again if not.
