The Underpass is the zone you reach in the main quest Recursions and Iterations. Its Resonant waits at the top of The Spire, the tall column labelled on the map.

Look at The Spire from a distance and press L1 on its prompt to add The Underpass Resonant to your quest log. Standing north-east of the Spire's fast travel door works.
Climb the Spire, using Shift (the ability to walk up walls) to change gravity.
At the locked door to the boss, collect three keys from the floating islands around it: one to the left of the door, one to the right and one opposite, back the way you climbed.

The Physicist is a long fight of 12 to 15 minutes that hits hard. Bring ways to heal, and attack only when you can get away again.

The trophy unlocks once you leave the Gap after the fight.
