ELDEN RING

The world is open from the start, so the steps below are an order that keeps the bosses in line with your strength. Sites of grace are the game's checkpoints: rest at one to level up, refill your flasks and fast travel. Every boss that has a trophy stays where it is after the ending, so a fight that is too hard now can wait.

From the start to Godrick, the lord of Stormveil Castle at the north end of Limgrave, the green starting region.

• At the Gatefront site of grace, Melina, a maiden, gives you Torrent, your horse, called with the whistle in your quick items. Then visit the Church of Elleh: Renna, a witch sitting on its ruined wall, gives you the Spirit Calling Bell. It lets you summon spirit ashes, allies you call into boss fights.
• Golden Seeds and Sacred Tears lie all over the map. Spend them at a site of grace: Seeds add flask charges and Tears make each flask heal more. They make every boss easier, so pick up each one you pass.
• Defeat the boss behind Castle Morne, at the southern tip of the Weeping Peninsula below Limgrave (Hidden trophyLeonine Misbegotten). It drops the Grafted Blade Greatsword, a legendary armament. The Tombsward Catacombs on the peninsula hold Lhutel the Headless, legendary ashen remains.
• Kill Knight Bernahl, the knight who sells wares in the Warmaster's Shack in Stormhill, by day, for the Devourer's Scepter (a legendary armament). Do it now: he leaves the shack later in the game.
• Melina offers to take you to Roundtable Hold once you have met Margit, the boss in front of Stormveil Castle. Accept. Roundtable Hold is the hub with the smith, the merchants and Fia.
• After Godrick, take the waygate (a glowing portal) at the end of the bridge from the Limgrave Tower Bridge site of grace. Climb the Divine Tower of Limgrave and restore his Great Rune at the top (Hidden trophyGreat Rune).

Save every Stonesword Key you find. Three legendary items lie behind imp statue seals, and each seal takes keys.

Limgrave and Stormveil Castle ticks off this step.

From Godrick to your first site of grace in Altus Plateau. Liurnia of the Lakes is the lake region north of Stormveil Castle.

• Take the Academy Glintstone Key from the islet west of the Academy of Raya Lucaria, behind a sleeping dragon you can run past. It opens the Academy's gate. Inside, the Radagon Icon (a legendary talisman) sits on a balcony past the Debate Parlor site of grace.
• Defeat the Academy's last boss in its Grand Library (Hidden trophyRennala, Queen of the Full Moon). A chest beside the arena opens later in Ranni's quest.
• Clear Caria Manor in the north of Liurnia. The Sword of Night and Flame, a legendary armament, is in a chest along its walls.
• Behind the manor, climb Ranni's Rise and agree to serve Ranni, the witch at the top. Talk to the two spirits of her servants downstairs as well. This starts the quest for one of the endings.
• In the Malefactor's Evergaol on a cliff by the Liurnia Lake Shore site of grace, defeat Adan, Thief of Fire, for Flame of the Fell God (a legendary incantation). Evergaols are sealed arenas on stone circles: stand in one and interact () to enter.
• Take the Ravine in northeast Liurnia up to Altus Plateau, the golden plateau above the lakes. Defeat the dragon at its top (Hidden trophyMagma Wyrm Makar) and rest at the first site of grace beyond it.

Resting there starts the festival at Redmane Castle, where Radahn is fought. Serve Ranni before you rest in Altus Plateau: from then until Radahn is dead she is not in her tower. Then turn back to Caelid and leave the rest of Altus Plateau for Step 5.

Liurnia and Ranni's tower ticks off this step.

From the festival to the Fingerslayer Blade, the item Ranni asked for. Caelid is the red, rotting region east of Limgrave, and Dragonbarrow its northern part.

• Take the waygate at the Impassable Greatbridge into Redmane Castle and talk to Jerren, the old man who announces the festival. Defeat the festival's boss in the dunes beyond the castle (Hidden trophyShardbearer Radahn). The gold summon signs around the battlefield call in allies for this fight.
• Afterwards, talk to Jerren again in the castle's chapel, fast travel away and come back. A fight at the castle then drops the Ruins Greatsword (a legendary armament). The War-Dead Catacombs at the north end of Radahn's battlefield hold Redmane Knight Ogha (legendary ashen remains).
• In Dragonbarrow, kill Greyoll, the giant dragon sleeping near Fort Faroth, then buy Greyoll's Roar (a legendary incantation) at the Cathedral of Dragon Communion. Radagon's Soreseal (a legendary talisman) is inside Fort Faroth.

Radahn's fall leaves a crater northwest of Fort Haight, in eastern Limgrave, with rocks floating above it. Climb down it into Nokron, Eternal City, a city underground. Do these there:

• Defeat the copy of yourself on the way into the city (Hidden trophyMimic Tear).
• Light the six braziers in the Hallowhorn Grounds and fight the deer spirit (Hidden trophyRegal Ancestor Spirit).
• Defeat the two gargoyles at the Great Waterfall Basin, at the end of the Siofra Aqueduct below the city (Hidden trophyValiant Gargoyles).
• In Siofra River, the underground river below Limgrave, light the eight braziers and fight its deer spirit (Hidden trophyAncestor Spirit).

Nokron also holds the Mimic Tear spirit ashes (legendary ashen remains) behind an imp statue seal, and the Fingerslayer Blade in a chest at Night's Sacred Ground. The Mimic Tear summons a copy of you with your gear. Call it into every hard fight from now on. The coffin by the gargoyles' site of grace carries you to Deeproot Depths, where Elden Stars (a legendary incantation) lies at the exit of an ants' cave.

Caelid, Radahn and the Eternal Cities ticks off this step.

From the Fingerslayer Blade to the end of Ranni's quest, which runs under Liurnia and ends on the Moonlight Altar, a plateau above western Liurnia. Never attack Ranni or anyone who serves her, or her quest stops.

• Give Ranni the Fingerslayer Blade. With the Carian Inverted Statue she gives you, turn the Carian Study Hall upside down and climb the Divine Tower of Liurnia behind it. The Cursemark of Death at its top is the item Fia needs in Step 7.
• Take the waygate at the top of Renna's Rise, the tower north of Ranni's, down to Ainsel River. Pick up the Miniature Ranni doll by the arrival point and talk to it at the nearby site of grace until it repeats itself.
• On the way through Nokstella, Eternal City, kill the Baleful Shadow, a red phantom past the Nokstella Waterfall Basin site of grace. Its key opens the chest beside Rennala's arena, which holds the Dark Moon Ring for Ranni. The Moon of Nokstella (a legendary talisman) lies under the giant throne in the city.
• Through the Ainsel River Well in eastern Liurnia, defeat the dragonkin in the western part of the river (Hidden trophyDragonkin Soldier of Nokstella).
• Cross the Lake of Rot beyond Nokstella, healing as you go, and interact with the coffin in the red water at the bottom of the Grand Cloister (Hidden trophyAstel, Naturalborn of the Void).
• Past Astel, a lift leads up to the Moonlight Altar. Give Ranni the Dark Moon Ring in the cave below the Cathedral of Manus Celes. She leaves the Dark Moon Greatsword (a legendary armament).

The Moonlight Altar holds two more legendary items: Ranni's Dark Moon (a legendary sorcery) in Chelona's Rise once three ghostly turtles are dead, and Black Knife Tiche (legendary ashen remains) from Alecto in the Ringleader's Evergaol. The ending itself waits until after the final boss.

Ranni's quest to the Moonlight Altar ticks off this step.

From Altus Plateau to Rykard. Mt. Gelmir is the volcano west of the plateau.

• Defeat Godefroy the Grafted in the Golden Lineage Evergaol, in the south of Altus Plateau, for the Godfrey Icon (a legendary talisman). The Sainted Hero's Grave on the plateau holds Ancient Dragon Knight Kristoff (legendary ashen remains).
• Climb the Shaded Castle on the plateau and defeat its boss in the Castellan's Hall (Hidden trophyElemer of the Briar). He drops the Marais Executioner's Sword (a legendary armament).
• On Mt. Gelmir, talk to Primeval Sorcerer Azur, sitting on the cliffs past the Hermit Village, for Comet Azur (a legendary sorcery). Show it to Sellen, the sorceress in the cellar of the Waypoint Ruins in Limgrave, and follow her errand to Sellia Hideaway in Dragonbarrow for Stars of Ruin (a legendary sorcery).
• In Volcano Manor at the top of Mt. Gelmir, accept the invitation of Tanith, the lady on the throne. Her key and a hidden wall in a room beside her hall lead down through the volcano to its lord (Hidden trophyShardbearer Rykard).

Altus Plateau and Mt. Gelmir ticks off this step.

From the capital's gate to the boss at the Elden Throne. Leyndell, Royal Capital, is the walled city at the foot of the Erdtree, the giant golden tree, across Altus Plateau. Its gate opens to anyone holding two Great Runes, and Godrick's and Radahn's will do. Enter by the gate in the northeast of the city, where the Draconic Tree Sentinel stands guard. It has to be beaten, but it has no trophy.

• Follow the main path through the city to the boss at the Elden Throne. Afterwards, touch the wall of thorns behind the throne and rest at the site of grace there. This moves the story on.
• Pick up the Bolt of Gransax (a legendary armament) from the giant spear in the city wall, down the lift by the west door of the Erdtree Sanctuary site of grace. It is out of reach after Step 8.
• Go down into the sewers under the city, the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds, and defeat the boss at their end in the Cathedral of the Forsaken (Hidden trophyMohg, the Omen).
• Hit the altar behind his arena, drop down the shaft that opens and touch the Frenzied Flame Proscription site of grace at the bottom. You fast travel there for the third ending.

Leyndell, Royal Capital ticks off this step.

From the Elden Throne to Fia's dream. The boss at the throne drops the Rold Medallion, which works the Grand Lift of Rold up to the Mountaintops of the Giants, the snowy region northeast of the capital.

To reach the lift, start at the Avenue Balcony site of grace in Leyndell. Go up the stairs and follow the path east to the large gate at its end. Open it and take the wooden lift behind it out of the city. Follow the path along the city walls to a second, bigger lift, which brings you to the Forbidden Lands. From there a single road leads to the Grand Lift of Rold.

• In Castle Sol, in the north of the Mountaintops, the Eclipse Shotel (a legendary armament) lies on the church altar. The left half of the Haligtree Secret Medallion lies past the castle's boss.
• Fast travel to the Village of the Albinaurics site of grace in western Liurnia. On the path up from it, hit the pot that is Albus, a man in hiding, and talk to him for the right half.
• At the Grand Lift of Rold, show the joined medallion to reach the Consecrated Snowfield. The Cave of the Forlorn there (a Stonesword Key opens it) holds the Golden Order Greatsword (a legendary armament).
• Take the waygate in a pool of blood by the cliffs in the southwest of the Snowfield and clear Mohgwyn Palace to its end (Hidden trophyShardbearer Mohg).
• In Ordina, Liturgical Town, in the Snowfield, enter the evergaol and light the four statues around the town. The waygate that appears leads to Miquella's Haligtree, a hidden tree with the city of Elphael in its roots.
• Defeat the boss at the very bottom of Elphael (Hidden trophyShardbearer Malenia). She is optional and the hardest fight in the game, so she can wait until after the endings.

Elphael also holds Cleanrot Knight Finlay (legendary ashen remains) and two legendary talismans, Marika's Soreseal behind a Stonesword Key seal and the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman. On the east side of the Mountaintops, cross the invisible bridge to Heretical Rise for Founding Rain of Stars (a legendary sorcery).

Then defeat the giant in the southeast of the Mountaintops and accept Melina's offer at the Forge of the Giants site of grace. She sets the Erdtree on fire and you wake in Crumbling Farum Azula. Rest at its first site of grace and you can fast travel again.

Fia has now left Roundtable Hold for Deeproot Depths, reached by the coffin by the Valiant Gargoyles' site of grace. Give her the Cursemark of Death and enter her dream (Hidden trophyLichdragon Fortissax).

Mountaintops of the Giants and the Haligtree ticks off this step.

From Crumbling Farum Azula to the final boss. Farum Azula is a ruined city floating in a storm.

• Lie in the empty grave on a ledge below the Beside the Great Bridge site of grace (Hidden trophyDragonlord Placidusax). The Old Lord's Talisman (a legendary talisman) is in a rotunda north of the Great Bridge.
• Pick up the Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone in a gazebo behind the dragon on the plaza southeast of the Dragon Temple Rooftop site of grace. Have Hewg, the smith at Roundtable Hold, use it to raise a special weapon, one upgraded with Somber Smithing Stones, to +10 (God-Slaying Armament).

Crumbling Farum Azula ticks off this part.

Back in the capital, now the Ashen Capital, walk back from the Forbidden Lands site of grace towards the city and take the lift down for Erdtree's Favor +2 (a legendary talisman). Then go on through the Elden Throne to the final boss. Afterwards, rest at the Fractured Marika site of grace and quit to the title screen (Options, System, Quit Game).

From the backup to the last ending. Each ending plays from the same save, copied back from the cloud each time.

1. Close the game. Turn off automatic uploads: Settings, Saved Data and Game/App Settings, Saved Data (PS5), Sync Saved Data, Auto-Sync Saved Data off.
2. Upload the save: Saved Data (PS5), Console Storage, Upload to Cloud Storage, ELDEN RING.
3. Start the game and touch Marika's statue () to mend the Elden Ring (Hidden trophyElden Lord).
4. Close the game. Download the save back: Saved Data (PS5), Cloud Storage, Download to Console, ELDEN RING, and overwrite the console's copy.
5. Start the game and use Ranni's blue summon sign beside the statue (Hidden trophyAge of the Stars).
6. Download the save back again. Fast travel to the Frenzied Flame Proscription site of grace, take off all your armour and open the door to accept the flame. Return to Marika's statue and choose to become the Lord of Frenzied Flame (Hidden trophyLord of Frenzied Flame).

The three endings ticks off this step. Without a backup, see one ending per playthrough: after each, start New Game+ and play back to the final boss. New Game+ starts the game over with your character and items.

After the last ending, decline New Game+ and you are back in the same world. Every boss and every legendary item is still where it was, except the Bolt of Gransax. Each legendary trophy has a checklist of its items, so finish whichever are not done yet:

• Pick up the nine legendary armaments (Legendary Armaments).
• Pick up the six legendary spirit ashes (Legendary Ashen Remains).
• Pick up the seven legendary sorceries and incantations (Legendary Sorceries and Incantations).
• Pick up the eight legendary talismans (Legendary Talismans).
