Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Guide & Roadmap
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's platinum takes one playthrough on any difficulty, and most of it comes after the credits: optional bosses, a tower of 33 fights and a grind to level 99. Little can be missed: a Prologue fight, an Act II camp scene, an Act III conversation and the quest of any friendly monster you attack.
1The Prologue in Lumière
You start in Lumière as Gustave, an engineer of Expedition 33. [Act by Act](trophytracker://game/11d3ef1f-c8da-41fe-9e2f-dcb07ddf983c/chapters) lists every collectible, Nevron quest and Monoco skill in the order you reach them. Pick them up as you go.
On Main Street, before you agree to go down to the harbour, beat the Mime by the dancers' stage (
A Peculiar Encounter), breaking its defence with Gustave's fully charged Overcharge (
Overcharge). Prologue: Main Street has the steps. At the festival that follows, trade your Festival Token for the Old Key: Prologue: the festival.
2Across the Continent in Acts I and II
Act I runs from Spring Meadows to Stone Wave Cliffs, and Act II to the Monolith, the tower of the Paintress, whom the Expedition sets out to stop.
- A white Nevron is a friendly monster with a request. Do it, talk to the Nevron again for the reward, and never fight it unless it asks.
- Leave the Chromatic Lancelier, a strong optional enemy on a side path in Spring Meadows, for after the story.
- From Flying Waters on, choose "Check up on the others" at the camp's fire whenever it is offered.
- Monoco, a Gestral who joins at Monoco's Station, learns a skill from each new kind of enemy beaten while he is in the active party. Keep him there.
- From Act II, accept your companions' offers to spend time together at camp. The choices matter only once, in Act III.
After the first Axon, the boss at the end of Visages or Sirène, watch the camp scene where Verso, the Expedition's swordsman, plays the piano with Maelle: Act II: after the first Axon.
3Act III and the final boss
Act III opens with Esquie, the party's giant mount, able to fly. Raise each companion to relationship level 7 at camp.
